The School of Education, University College Dublin and the School of Education, Queen’s University are to jointly host the third all Ireland conference for Doctoral students in Education, with the theme: ‘Navigating pathways for transformative action – the role of Doctoral research in education’.
The conference, which will take place on Friday and Saturday May 13th and 14th 2011 (venue School of Education, Roebuck Castle, UCD) aims to provide a forum for doctoral students from all over Ireland to come together in a supportive environment to present and discuss their research and extend their understanding of advanced research in education. The conference format consists of paper and poster presentation, as well as round table sessions. Sponsored by the Standing Conference on Teacher Education North and South (SCoTENS) and the Educational Studies Association of Ireland (ESAI) the conference is eager to attract submissions from those pursing doctoral studies on all aspects of education, and from across all higher education institutions on the island of Ireland. It is especially useful for encouraging the formation of professional links among educators and researchers in education who are at the earlier phases of their research careers. A limited number of bursaries to cover travel and accommodation costs for those outside of Dublin will be awarded. We are delighted to have Professor Diane Reay, Cambridge University, present the key note address for the conference on May 13th. Abstracts for the conference to be submitted to [email protected] by February 28th 2011. Any additional queries please contact [email protected] Ireland conference for Doctoral students in Education
